Reparations for the Blacks!
There is a growing undercurrent within our
society for reparations for African-Americans. Lawsuits and legislation
is happening right now. I for one will not stand idle on this
issue. I am getting tired of people suing the Govt. for issues
that occured years ago. Who are they suing? If you haven't guessed
it, they are suing YOU!!!. The American taxpayer, who do you think
lines the pockets of these lawyers? You do!!.
Though I find slavery sickening the people who act distraught
over their heritage just have to look over the pond to Africa.
Slavery within that continent among Black on Black occurs still
today. Looking at Africa one would think the pain someone suffered
in the past would be a small price to pay to enjoy the fruits
America has to offer today..
DR.ROY FOSTER: The Blacks should be thankful that their grandparents
were slaves, otherwise Blacks would still be in Africa dying of
A.I.D.S. or even not to be alive today or even born. God has a
reason for everything and they should not expect from others but
prove their worthiness.
I personally have experienced many Blacks in my business over 40 years and have not found many Blacks who deserve what they get in America. They still walk around with prejudism and anger no matter how much religion is shoved into them. Common sense seems to be lacking in most and that comes from my experiences. Of course there are exceptions but as we saw with 90% voting for socialist Gore-ing this proves what I am trying to say here.
Reparation my ---! What they should have is higher taxes, per the Democrats, because they should pay for being given actually a "gift" by being born in America. They need a little more www.mentalgrowth.com then they might know how to punch ballots or even wise up to not vote for a socialist-fascist America which almost came to be by 300 votes in Florida.

Reparations for slaves? Sure! I say we dig
up everyone who was involved, take all the jewelry off the bodies
of dead white people and bury it with all the dead black people!
That should be equally offensive to everyone and if it isn't,
I'm sure I can come up with another idea which would p!ss off
people of all races, so that everyone in the country could work
together in a common effort to destroy me and everything I stand
for. Now that's what I call racial unity!

I whole-heartedly agree. This is getting to be too much to bear. How much more can we give. When europeans came here they didn't have rosie conditions to work under either. Will we now sue for that. Let's just give everyone born in America a big fat hand out. We give everthing to foreigners everyday. Why not give back to the people who have worked hard all their life and fought hard for their country. People that have never even worked here one day are getting social security checks. Most, never even learn english, but they sure know where to go to get everything for free. Generation after generation get social security checks. No wonder there won't be anything left for the people that worked for it. How much more can the government tax people? When will it end?

Ah, the three wise men... I say we just lock these guys in a room
with David Duke, John Rocker and Jimmy the Greek and let them
all beat the snot out of each other! It may not solve any of our
racial problems, but it would sure make one heck of a pay-per-view
event.

If elected, I will immediately declare a state of martial law.
Then I will have all the vicious weasels responsible for compounding
our problems over the years, rounded up and put to death in public
squares across the country. No appeals, no drawn out court cases,

Citizen who has been imprisoned for drug offenses which did not
involve violence, child corruption or any other actual crime and
divide up all the drugs currently being held in evidence rooms
nationwide among them, as compensation for their wrongful confinement.
I will jail people for bringing frivolous law suits as well as
their lawyers.
I will imprison David Boies just on basic principle!
Then it's on to the school system! I will have any kid with a
major felony under his/her belt thrown out of school PERMANENTLY!
Anyone caught carrying a weapon into a school or committing any
offense beyond chewing gum in class after that, will be arrested
and once convicted, forced to complete their formal education
in lock down.
Prison will be segregated by Presidential order, separating all
violent offenders from non-violent ones. All lifers will be housed
in special detention units and everyone else will either be forced
to work and produce goods to be sold for profit, or placed in
lock-down until they decide to. These profits will be used as
reparations to the victims and families of victims, and lock-down
time would not count against the time left on any convict's sentence.
I will then take any land which decent, hard working people have
been forced to sell to the US government for any reason other
than building a military base and give it back to them without
charge.
I'll place National Guard units and regular army troops all along
the South American boarder with orders to shoot to kill anyone
who attempts to cross over illegally.
I will send a message to all allied (especially the French) governments
that the next time we have a war and they refuse to let us fly
over their air space, I'm declaring war on them as well!
I will double the pay of anyone who agrees to stay in our armed
forces for ten years or more and give immediate free health care
privileges to all war veterans!
I will abolish NAFTA and GAT and tell the Oriental nations to
either start buying more of our goods or find someone else to
do business with.
I'll heavily fine any company who moves American jobs to some
impoverished country and hires starving people for pennies just
to save a buck.
I will use the money gathered from these fines and others to improve
elderly care facilities, where old people are currently being
treated like cattle!
Of course once these and a few other ideas of mine have been implemented
I will restore the nation to a state of civil law and start running
for reelection.

About those overcrowded prisons, do this. You'll save money. Once
you've got rid of the guys that you think don't need to be there,
how about having a Maximum prison census? Say you've got a 500-bed
prison. Say you've got 500 prisoners. You could give them numbers.
Like, 1 thru 500. The newest guy is number 1. The oldest, in his
'prison life' is number 500. When somebody's time is up, and he
gets out, everybody scooches up in line. When somebody comes in
the front, if there are not enough beds, why, jes take the longest-termer
out back and strangle that sucker. Thataway, you don't waste money,
or time on the worst of the worst. Can you just imagine visiting
day? It'd sound like this: "Now, you listen to me, little
brother. You stay out of trouble. I don't want you comin' in here.
After all, I'm number 496. Only 5 more thugs, and they'll take
ME out back and strangle me by my own neck. I don't want that." You know what? I bet the crime rate would go down, too. Can I
be in charge of your prisons?

I agree. Please look to some of my other posts
in groups such as "Rev. Jesse Jackson for Man of the Year",
there's one about "Slaves without Masters" in the General
Discussion Group, and a few others with such racially motivated
headers that I fealt compelled to respond to. That would be easier
than trying to rehash the same arguments again and again.
However, it must be said that your post makes a point that I have
been saying for years. I don't believe that there are any people
alive today in the U.S.A who actually OWNED slaves or who WERE
slave (At least not in THIS country.) and to continue to whine
about what happened to ones ancestors is ridiculous. Those who
want reperations for what happened over a century ago to their
ancestors are no more deserving of reperation than I am (I am
Cherokee Indian and French on one side and Scotts-Irish on the
other.) for the hardships, cruelty, bigotry, and massacres that
MY ancestors experienced. It didn't happen to me.
Good post. Too bad more people don't use common
sense like you did. Then again, these days, common sense isn't
all that common.

Well, if we must pay reparations for blacks then they have to pay back the hundred years of welfare 95% have received. Plus, Johnny C has to pay back for the college education he received. Oh, Jesse is rich without working a day in his life, yep, US Government. He has to pay it back. Take it from there. Which black hasn't sucked on the Gov ===, they must pay it back. Hell, we may make money on the deal.

I will also create a uniform system of voting in every state for
all federal elections...probably something like what we have here
in the great state of Maine.
Here we use the simple check-your-ballot-with-a-pencil method
and then run the cards through an optical scanner.
I'd give DC statehood and finally give those suffering ba$tards
the representation they deserve.
I would eliminate federal funding for the arts. If someone is
truly a good artist, what the hell do they need with our money?
If their art is any good, then they should be able to sell it
in order to live, right? If they can't sell their art, then their
artistic skills are bogus to begin with!

Let us not just pay back all the Afro-Americans, including the descendants of Carribean immigrants here. Let's pay back all the immigrants who came here and were worked to death at slave wages, like the Irish, Italian, Polish, Germans, Russians, Jews and all other ethnic groups. Also, the indentured servants and people sent from British prisons to work in the colonies.

African Americans seem to forget the fact that
their own people sold them to the White man. Their chiefs took
a pretty big bounty in handing over their own tribes men. The
point however is that their is more opportunity for an African
American's in the US today than for caucausian americans.
Case in point, I am thousands of dollars in student loan debt
for my graduate school doctorate, yet I went to school with many
African American individuals who are debt free and received the
same degree. WHite man has paid its debt and then some.

The civil war was fought over (in part) the issue of slavery, so if the african americans get reparitions, shouldn't ALL the descendants of the people who fought in this war get reparitions? I say "no reparitions for anyone and everyone HAS to work for what they want in this world here and now".

I calculate that 40 acres and a mule in todays
dollars comes to approximatly $120,000. i.e $3000 an acre. I would
be intrested to know how much reporations are being asked for,
and if it is above or below $120,000 per person.
If it is below $120,000 why then were reporations given at the
time, not sufficient, and why would it be sufficient today?
The argument that blacks helped build and did
not participate in the rewards, would be a very good argument
if all that they helped build had not been destroyed during the
civil war. Namely virtually everything in the south. How is it
possable to participate in the fruits of labor if there are none,
due to the fact that they were burned to the ground? Virtually
everyone had to start over from scratch, black and white alike.

What about the tens of thousands of white people
who fought and died on the side of the north during the civil
war? Their children and grandchildren were denied the fruits of
their potential labors, had they lived to create any wealth.
What about the fact that the US government takes taxes (the same
taxes some would use to pay reparations) from EVERYONE, regardless
of race; In some cases people who have only been here over the
course of a generation or two? How are any of these people in
any way connected to slavery of a century and a half ago on this
continent?
What about my great grandparents (Irish) who just barely escaped
the tyranny of the British government and near starvation, only
to come here and be treated like second class citizens their whole
lives?
What do I get as compensation for their mistreatment?
What about the vast majority of people in this country who hate
the very idea of slavery to begin with?
Oh and by the way...who gets the reparations? What black people
are we talking about here? I've never met a slave, have you?
How does one propose to pay reparations to those who are far better
off having been born in this country, than the country their ancestors
came from and were never placed in chains?
At some point in history every single race has been enslaved,
very often by people of their own race!
Need we be reminded that the very word slave comes from the word
Slav, as in the bound servants of Slavic descent?
They were white people, by the way.

I am also frustrated about these "civil right" issues. These are racist views and come from the Democratic and/or liberal mainstream. I cannot help think that there is something psychology wrong with people that hold grudges against people that were never involved with slavery issues. Many blacks act like whites owe them something. I owe no one anything. The mindset of Democrats, liberals, and/or many uneducated people is that they want handouts and/or special privileges. I am a minority, but this mindset is degrading and stirs up racism. These blacks need to grow up and get over it.

Sowell found that all peoples had, at one time during their history,
been enslaved. My ancestors from the British Isles should demand
reparations from Rome. I don't care that their standard of living
was increased a hundred fold by the occupying force. Gimme money.
As a Native American, I probably had an ancestor or two that was
enslaved by another tribe. Gimme more money. My sister-in-law
is black, very black. She is an African and I bet one or two of
her relatives might have been sold as slaves - Give Her Money
TOO.
It gets to be ridiculous. This is a lark for these three millionaire
attornies. Yes, they have really been hurt by members of their
race being enslaved. If they want to do something for the progeny
of US ex-slaves, let them roll out their own checkbook.

I will basically write about anything, as my interests a varied
and only slightly twisted.
I write song parodies, short stories, long stories, poetry, political
commentary; You name it. I also create web pages in my spare time,
as well as performing simple notary public duties (even marriages
in my state) and am currently the vice chair of the Selective
service Board in my area of the state. We are in charge of hearing
deferment cases and the like, should there ever be another draft
in the US.
